Casa Álvarez, offering quality cuisine since 1967
Our history: In the late '60s, Benjamin Alvarez Alvarez founded Fonda Alvarez, a bar and restaurant offering typical local dishes.
The kitchen was run by his wife, Ramona Giménez. The character that this woman gave to her meals are still relished in the olla de pueblo, gazpacho manchego and other delicacies of the Serrania area. In 1989, he renovated the premises, keeping the historical flavor of the old town house, and rooms were fitted making it a picturesque mountain hotel restaurant.
Today, Rafael Alvarez, son of the founders, continues to offer the famous dishes, and welcomes to his home all those passing by Tuéjar and who decide to stay to know its people, nature and heritage.
At Casa Álvarez you will find entertainment, friendly and family hospitailty from its owners, and typical local dishes such as gazpacho, muérdagos and morteruelo, besides the famous mountain dried pork sausages and ham.
